Views Bulk Operations is an extremely useful new way to bulk manage content from within views. Consider it a much more flexible version of admin/content/node.

It incorporates both node operations as well as actions, so it is very possible to do just about anything you want to many nodes at a time.

On my latest project, we’ve come to depend heavily on it for managing node properties and queuing nodes for actions. Some folks might be surprised at how useful this can be.
