Finding and hiring a consultant for your Drupal project

Session Description

DISCLAIMER: I’d be more than happy to team up with someone else on leading this session because I’ve only gone through this process once and if someone with more experience wants to join forces, that’d be great!

ON WITH OUR DESCRIPTION...

You’re one of the fortunate folks who has a budget to implement your new Drupal project. What’s the best way to go about finding a consultant? Should you use an Request for Proposals? Where should you post your hiring announcement? How can you best sift through the proposals? How do you evaluate prospective consultants? As with all unconferences, this session will be very open to input from participants.

Session Presenter: Seth Schneider

Notes from the Finding and Hiring a Consultant for Your Drupal Project session

What attributes are important to you?

  • Timezone. Do you want someone local, anywhere in the world, or within a certain range of timezones, such as anywhere in the Americas?

  • Size of company. Some people only want to hire freelancers, others only want companies, and some are okay with either.
  • Does the company/consultant support your mission?
  • What kind of clients has the company/consultant worked with?
